On September 7, 2022, at approximately 1:38am 2 District – Niagara Falls uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service were called to a report of a shooting in Niagara Falls.
Officers arrived on scene on Summer Street near Main Street in Niagara Falls. Officers located a male victim laying injured on the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The male victim in his 20s was treated at the scene by Niagara Emergency Medical Service paramedics and transported to a local hospital. He was later flown to an out of region trauma hospital for further care in critical condition.
The initial investigation by officers has determined a possible black sport utility vehicle and a possible black sedan were seen leaving the area of the shooting at a high rate of speed.
2 District detectives and detectives from the Forensic Services Unit have been assigned to the investigation. The active investigation is in its early stages.

Anyone (residents or businesses) in the area with closed circuit security cameras, doorbell video cameras, or dash cameras are asked to review their footage for suspicious activity for the period between 12:30am and 1:38am on September 7, 2022.
