Detransition rates are low but the far right hype things up to fuel hate and discrimination against trans people just trying to live our lives. Many people who detransition do it because of financial, social or political pressure. People can better figure out who they are in a supportive community. If people have to deal with hate and abuse, it really doesn't help everyone to focus to make the right decision before starting their transition. The far right like to pretend they care about detransitioners but they really don't, they make it more difficult for people figuring out themselves. Most who did detransition support others being able to transition to not deal with gender dysphoria. Having to deal with a toxic anti-LGBTQ+ society can lead to some people not telling anyone and suppressing their own feelings and happiness, I know from experience I lived in denial for years how I was trans and suppressed my own happiness to try and fit in how society wanted me to be. I've never been happier since I started transitioning 2 years ago, I'm 37 years old.

I grew up without the information had zero influence by anyone growing up yet I still felt massively depressed about my body, I wore female clothes growing up as a kid when nobody was home, which was rare. I didn't have anything in society to influence me wishing I could just wake up a girl and being so depressed about my body. I had no idea the mind developed separately than the body growing up, lots of people seem to assume chromosomes determine gender but not really there is more to it. Humans can be born with different chromosomes than just xx or xy, tntersex people exist, yet the far right and religion try and enforce their belief in just male and female, like how the church and society used to oppose science how the Earth was not the center of the universe, they used to burn women alive for being "witches!"

I know from experience just how damaging school can be for LGBTQ+ people, specifically trans people if the information is not there. How can kids grow up figuring out what they want to do with their life if science is being kept out of discussion? Several U.S. red states have become authoritarian kind of like Russia, Florida and Texas started passing laws in the past couple years similar to Russias anti-LGBTQ+ policies. Grown adults in those red states are bullying LGBTQ+ students, legally. Kids are expected to grow up learning to figure out what they are doing with their life, mainly religious people don't want kids to grow up in a safe environment where freedom of expression is allowed.
